An interview with Ralph Nader about his presidential platform on energy and the environment

Grist magazine, March 25, 2008

"There's no such thing as clean coal," Ralph Nader tells Grist in an exclusive interview about his environmental views. "Anybody who's been down in a coal mine knows that. You've got to phase out all fossil fuels." Nader, who launched his fifth presidential run late last month, sees much more promise in solar. "I think solar energy is on the verge of exploding in this country," he says. Nader also talks to Grist about corporate greening efforts, carbon offsets, 100-mile-a-gallon cars, and Al Gore's climate activism. For more details about Nader's green record, check out our fact sheet, and use our handy chart to compare his views to those of the other presidential candidates.
